Inflatable Football Goals: Technology, Safety and Portability

How Rigid Air Technology makes inflatable goals as rigid as a steel frame — yet lighter, safer and erected in under 90 seconds.

In brief: inflatable football goals with Rigid Air Technology (RAT) achieve the rigidity of a steel frame — whilst being lighter, safer and erected in under 90 seconds. This guide explains the technology, the safety advantage over metal goals, and why portability is the deciding factor for clubs, schools and local authorities across the UK and Ireland.

The Technology

Traditional goals require heavy aluminium or steel frames to hold their shape. Rigid Air Technology (RAT) instead uses an internal pressure of 1 bar (15 PSI) inside a high-strength TPU shell. The result: a frame that achieves the rigidity of a steel tube under shot impact, at a fraction of the weight. No metal poles, no sharp edges, no corrosion.

Safety

Goal toppling is a well-documented cause of serious injury. Heavy, unanchored metal goals have caused severe injuries and deaths among children globally — and UK/Ireland governing bodies have issued repeated guidance on goal safety. An inflatable goal reduces this risk fundamentally: it is light, yielding and has no hard steel edges to cause harm on impact. Our goals are manufactured in accordance with EN 16579, the current European safety standard for portable football goals (manufacturer self-declaration), CE/UKCA marked, and supplied with ground anchors. Full compliance documentation.

Portability

One person erects a goal in under 90 seconds. For transport, simply deflate — the entire goal fits into a carry bag and into any car boot. No permanent installation, no trailer required. For clubs running multiple age-group sessions across several pitches, schools with limited storage, County FA events and council leisure programmes, this portability is the decisive advantage.

Who It Is For

Clubs and academies (age-appropriate sizes from 3 m × 2 m to 7.32 m × 2.44 m), Multi-Academy Trusts and local authority schools, tournament organisers, County FA suppliers and wholesale distributors throughout the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe. Volume pricing is available per container load; own-brand (white-label) supply is available from 100 units.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are inflatable goals rigid enough for serious training?

Yes. At 1 bar internal pressure, Rigid Air Technology achieves the rigidity of a steel frame. Goals withstand hard shots and return to shape after impact.

How do they compare with metal goals for safety?

Significantly safer under toppling: light and yielding, with no hard steel edges. Supplied with ground anchors and manufactured to EN 16579 (manufacturer self-declaration), CE/UKCA marked.

How quickly can they be erected?

One person erects a goal in under 90 seconds. For storage, deflate and the goal fits into a carry bag.
